IOM in Portugal provides practical support to UK nationals at risk and their family members to finalise their applications for residence in Portugal in order to guarantee their rights under the UK-EU Exit Agreement.
This project is funded by the UK Government under the United Kingdom Nationals Support Fund (UKNSF), which has made available around £3 million (GBP) to charities and other organisations to support UK nationals living in the European Union. This project is coordinated by IOM UK and is being implemented in Portugal, France, Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Italy and Germany.
In close cooperation with the British Embassy and in partnership with the High Commission for Migration (ACM), IOM will conduct awareness campaigns targeting UK nationals living in Portugal, share accessible information on residence procedures and provide direct support to people who have greater difficulties in accessing information and residence procedures.
While information provided online and through other means of communication will be available to all, IOM will provide specific support to individuals facing certain challenges, namely people with disabilities or chronic illness, people facing language and literacy barriers or barriers to access to relevant technology.
